House Hunters International Calling

I know so many of you are curious about our place here in Palau. We are lucky in that the Judiciary found us a wonderful apartment. It’s near the heart of downtown (5 minutes from shopping, the market center), close to school options (more on that in another post), and has the best view.

Let’s start there.

Morning coffee vibes from the balcony

This view. I think I already have too many, and yet not enough, pictures of it. I get to look out over that any time I step outside. Any time I open the front door, really.

Hello, gorgeous.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor of the building, which is excellent for that view. Maybe not as great for my lungs as I’m trudging up the stairs. I keep telling myself the more I do it, the easier it will be. There is an elevator for when we have groceries, etc., but it does cost a quarter any time you want to use it. That’s some local smarts!

It’s a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom with a living area, dining area, kitchen, and a room where you could hook up a washer, but we are across the back hall from the laundry room, so we will probably just do that.

Living area (with a sleeping Will)

The furniture provided is nice – in good shape, comfortable. We have since purchased a TV for the entertainment center, and had WiFi installed, so the boys are content.

Dining Area

The dining table is a great size. Since we don’t have a “office space” we are considering turning the table a different direction and putting a small table/desk under the window (not seen in the above picture) as a place for us to work. Also, as soon we arrived and were touring, Will said “Mom – what you’ve always wanted – a way to watch us and talk to us while you cook.” I was sold right there. Also, I can look out the window while prepping and I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned the amazing view.

The kitchen is adequately sized, though gets a little tight when multiple of us are in there. We purchased a convection toaster oven, so we can toast, air fry, etc. No microwave as of now. Small appliances aren’t cheap here, so we are going to see how long it takes us to break down before we get one. The storage in the kitchen is AMAZING! I can’t wait to organize and get it together once all my stuff arrives.

Boy’s Bedroom

Each boy has a bedroom with 2 twin beds, a good sized dresser, and great closet (not pictured). Each bedroom also has an en suite bathroom with shower (no tubs). Boys are happy to have their own space! We still have some decorating to do, but that takes time.

Primary bedroom

Primary bedroom has a queen bed, large dresser, and closet (with mirrored doors). More storage above and below the closet.

So that’s our sweet little humble abode. Putting some signature touches on it. Making it ours.

And did I mention that view?
